Shopping at PBL

When you use a debit or credit card to make a purchase, we collect debit or credit card information and your signature (in-store only) to process and administer your payment. If you make purchases through our website, we may also collect your billing and shipping address, phone number, and email address to deliver the ordered products. We may also collect optional information such as your date of birth to send you a birthday card and any other information that can be collected through our websites and/or social networks.

When you return or exchange products purchased at one of our stores, we may ask you to provide your name, address, phone number, and proof of purchase. We collect this information to administer our loss prevention program and help identify and prevent fraud. For returns resulting in a refund to a customer’s debit or credit card, we will ask for debit or credit card information to process and administer the refund.

Commercial Communications

When you subscribe to our mailing list to receive our newsletter, catalog, or other promotional communications by mail, email, or other means, we may collect personal information such as your first name, last name, email address, and/or postal address (depending on the delivery method) and information about your interests to provide the service you requested.

You are free to choose at any time to stop receiving our promotional communications by clicking the "Unsubscribe" button usually found at the bottom of our emails or by contacting our representatives. Please allow up to 30 days for this to take effect.

Contests, Promotions, Surveys

When you register for a contest, participate in a promotion, or respond to one of our surveys, we may collect your name, address, phone number, and email address. We use this information to manage your participation in the contest or promotion and, in the case of surveys, to understand our customers and improve our product and service offerings, promotions, and events. When you register for a contest, promotion, or survey, we may ask for your permission to receive future commercial information from PBL and/or its commercial partners. Customer Service

When you submit a comment or question to customer service by email, through the chat service on our websites, or via social networks, or when you visit a customer service counter in one of our stores, we may collect personal information such as your name, postal or email address, and/or phone number to respond to your comment or question. We also collect various types of information that you provide to us to respond to your question.

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Unless otherwise indicated herein, we are committed to not disclosing personal information about our partners without obtaining their prior consent.

Service Providers

We may share your personal information with third parties that provide services on our behalf, such as payment processing, hosting our websites, sending emails or other communications on our behalf, organizing contests and promotions, or analyzing the effectiveness of our advertising strategy. Your personal information is primarily stored in Canada but may be stored and processed outside of Canada in countries where we have partners, such as the United States, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, India, Tunisia, Sri Lanka, Morocco, Turkey, and Ukraine, by our group companies and third-party service providers.

Legal Obligations

WEBSITE INFORMATION

When you visit our websites, we collect the IP address of all visitors to our website and related information such as the browser you use, the operating system you use, the time spent on the website, usage patterns, and the domain name of the website from which you accessed our site. We collect this information to help us assess your experience on our websites and improve them.

PCI COMPLIANCE

PBL is proud to confirm that we are PCI compliant and therefore do not store your credit or debit card data on our servers. PBL uses the services of Moneris Canada, PayPal Canada, Seezle, and Ayden to process your credit or debit card payments, and none of your information is stored on our servers. Our partners encrypt your data to prevent data theft and fraud.

Our websites may also use a technology called "tracer tags" or "invisible pixels." This technology allows us to understand which pages you visit. These "tracer tags" are used to help us optimize and personalize our websites for you and future visitors.

If you prefer not to be recognized when you visit our websites, you can always connect via a private browsing window. You can also erase traces of your visit by clearing your browsing history.
